Division I

It's Penn Relays week, but Sherwood has some unfinished business to attend to. The Sherwood boys should become the first boys team to claim their division after a meet with 1-2 Springbrook this week. The Georgetown Prep boys kept them honest last week by handing them a very close 69-67 loss, but Georgetown Prep was only participating in the meet for practice and the outcome does not count against Sherwood. The Sherwood girls will look to win their fourth matchup in a row to improve to 4-2.

Seneca Valley and Wheaton will battle to stay out of the basement in the division. Seneca Valley looks a little bit stronger and deeper through the early meets this season.

Division II

The Paint Branch boys and girls came out on the losing end of a tri meet with Northwest and Damascus last week, but should bounce back this week against Rockville.

The Northwest girls became the first team to officially win their division last week while the Damascus boys improved to 3-0 and will face Einstein and Magruder next week to try to win Division II.

Division III

Only Blair stands in the way of the Watkins Mill boys after they took down Gaithersburg and Churchill simultaneously in a tightly contested tri meet last week. So Churchill beat Blair who beat B-CC who tied Gaithersburg who beat Churchill and came within five points of tieing Watkins Mill. Division III boys meets have been very competitive this season.

The Churchill girls improved to 3-0 and will face 3-0 Northwood and 3-0 B-CC next week to determine the division winner.

Division IV

I've been picking against the Kennedy girls all season long and they have burned me almost every time. Kennedy beat WJ last week but fell to Wootton, giving them a final record of 4-1. Wootton girls improved to 4-0 and will host Richard Montgomery next week. The RM girls edged out Blake in a close one last week to improve to 2-2.

The Wootton boys suffered a close loss to WJ last week to fall to 3-1 and will try to play spoiler vs. the undefeated 4-0 Richard Montgomery boys next week.

Does G-burg win if WM loses?

WM still wins the division if they lose, 4-1 is better than 3-1-1. Besides, they beat GBurg head to head. Which is good for WM, 'cause they are gonna get shredded.
