Division I

Greatest Quad Meet Ever?

This Wednesday, Whitman will host the juggernaut of all mid-week dual meets. Four of the best teams with many of the best athletes in the state will race on a very fast course with everything on the line. The three top rated girls' teams in the county (Northwest, Churchill, and Whitman) will face off at full strength. The winner will be the divisional champions in all likelihood. Who will that be? Well my guess is Northwest while Churchill works on closing the gap between their fourth and fifth runners, but nothing would surprise me. On the boys' side, Quince Orchard has already dealt a loss to two of these teams while WJ remains undefeated. There is always a lot of pride on the line when WJ and Whitman collide. Expect very fast times when Moen and Graves meet Palmer and Silver-Korn. Churchill and Northwest both have good pack teams and will be a factor in the team battle.

Division II

It will be Gaithersburg's final dual meet and B-CC's first. Gaithersburg's boys needs victories over these two teams to claim the division title, but B-CC has been laying low since their 3rd place finish over 5th place Gaithersburg at Woodward Relays. In the mean time, Gaithersburg has been racing well, setting up a good rematch between the two. Magruder's runners will be involved up front but don't have the depth of the other two teams. The girls matchup will feature three very evenly matched teams. Magruder would be the favorite based on potential, and B-CC gets an A+ for flying under my radar, but I give the nod to Gaithersburg for running better lately.

Division III

Einstein will reappear for the first time since Woodward Relays. They host Blake and Seneca Valley in a meet that should be fun on the boys' side and a little shakey on the girls' side. In the mean time, Clarksburg boys and girls will be looking to improve to 3-0 against a Springbrook team coming off of a controversial tri meet.

Division IV

Well I was wrong about the Watkins Mill boys who are actually pretty good for division IV. They will try to keep it going against Poolesville, while the Poolesville girls will likely race an incomplete WM team. The same can be said about the Northwood/Rockville matchup with Rockville's boys and Northwood's girls struggling.
