Edmund Burke Girls win 2nd Straight PVAC Championship Banner
On a cold, blustery day on the tough, twisting course at Queen Anne School, the Edmund Burke Girls team defended its title in style, placing 4 runners in the top 7, finishing with 36 points to Field School's 67. Kiran Parasher - 2nd, Molly McCabe - 3rd, Emma Timbers - 4th and Mathilde Arandia - 7th earned 1st Team All-Conference honors for Burke. Field School placed three in the Top 14, led by conference champion, Melanie Ottenstein, who won every league race she entered this fall.
St. Anselm's won the Boys PVAC banner with strong runs from their seniors, Johnny Carpenter - 1st, Taru Thompson - 4th and Don Arndt - 9th. Carpenter, like Ottenstein, was undefeated in league meets this year, his first year of Cross Country. Edmund Burke grabbed 2nd place with 86 points, edging out Sandy Spring with 92. Burke was led by seniors Conor Messinger - 2nd, Casey Mlyniec - 3rd and junior Simon Conrad, who rebounded from an injury to grab 14th.
