Division I

The Walter Johnson boys surprised me with a win over Churchill last week. I think they should be good enough to beat the rest of the teams in the division, or at least not have much truoble until they face Sherwood and Georgetown Prep in two weeks.

Division II

Okay, this one may bite me in the butt, but I'm picking the Wootton girls to take down the Northwest girls. Wootton has some good athletes and they have something to prove. Northwest did not have Britt Eckerstrom or Olivia Ekpone at the Cougar Relays last weekend while Wootton finished in the top three in just about every event. They are looking sharp for this point in the season.

Whitman and Blair is another tough girls matchup to pick. Blair has the advantage in the sprints while Whitman is strong in the distance events. The two teams seem pretty evenly matched in the field events. Both teams are deeper than Watkins Mill, but the young teams from Whitman and Blair are going to make things interesting.

Division III

Clarksburg should continue to roll against Einstein and Rockville. Two of my five incorrect predictions last week came from under-estimating Rockville, but I haven't seen them yet so I'm not sure who their point scorers are yet. They probably can't hang with Clarksburg, but Einstein will be a good matchup for their boys and girls. The team with the most athletes will probably win.

I'm starting to really like the RM boys, especially after the Cougar Relays. RM is covering all of the events well and I think they can take down Springbrook. The RM girls proved me wrong against Einstein, but I think Springbrook will be tougher test for them. Neither team is too strong, but they have numbers.

Division IV

The Damascus boys got past Paint Branch easier than I thought last week and they shouldn't have any more trouble with Quince Orchard than they did with Paint Branch. Their girls should also be able to take down QO with their well-rounded team.

Gaithersburg hosts Paint Branch and Poolesville this week in what should be one of the best girls dual meets of the season. Paint Branch was strong against Damascus last week and has to be considered the favorites to win both meets, although I think Gaithersburg can steal some sprinting points from them. Poolesville is the darkhorse in this matchup but they have the talent to compete and could steal a win on a good day.

I feel like this is the same person posting over and over again saying the same thing... It will be a very good meet, Jessie is gonna need to have a really good day, but based off of what I have seen so far she looks like she will be in good shape. I think this meet will come down to who wins the hurdles and the field events

There are a lot of good athletes from each school. Together they all make a team. Always singling out one person over and over again is insulting to everyone else. What? They don't matter?

Don't be insulted

No one wants to read all the names of every kid who scores a few points. Even if he tried to break it all down by event and athlete, coaches do funny things in dual meets.

I'm not complaining about Kevin's write up. He's fair - he has his favorites though, but he does an awesome job! It's everyone thinking that one person can carry the team. Yeah there are some standouts that deserve to be mentioned but don't act like he/she are the only ones that matter.

Northwest Girls beat Wooton it was tight competition and every point mattered hopefully the Northwest girls will be more serious after this meet knowing that no other schools will be competing for the Divion title as hard as them

Any result (times) from Gaithersburg, Paint Branch and Poolesville meet? The 4x100 viedo looks great for both the PB boys and Girls. It would be intresting to know the time for both race. Also who won the 4x200 and the 300 Hurdle on the girls side?
