Jonaton Baginski, Rockville 2014 Poll Points: 104 2011 County Finish: 12 2011 3A West Region Finish: 9 2011 3A State Finish: 17 Baginski did not run track as a sophomore, but the word out of Concord Running Camp is that he is in good shape entering his junior year. Last year he placed 12th at the county championship in a personal best time of 16:31.35.

Alex Riishojgaard, B-CC 2014 Poll Points: 114 2011 County Finish: 9 2011 4A West Region Finish: DNR 2011 4A State Finish: DNR Riishojgaard was the surprise of last year's county meet, placing ninth as a sophomore in a personal best time of 16:23.74. It was his last race of the season as he suffered a stress fracture shortly thereafter.

8. Peter Horton, B-CC 2014 Poll Points: 136 2011 County Finish: 20 2011 4A West Region Finish: 27 2011 4A State Finish: 46 Horton quietly put together a very impressive sophomore track season with personal bests of 4:30.57 and 9:46.21. He went on to place 9th in the 3200 at the state championship.

7. Will Delay, Walter Johnson 2013 Poll Points: 143 2011 County Finish: DNR 2011 4A West Region Finish: DNR 2011 4A State Finish: DNR After a 9:40.62 5th place performance at the outdoor county championship, Delay should be among the leaders on this year's deep Walter Johnson squad.

6. David Levine, Wootton 2013 Poll Points: 200 2011 County Finish: 14 2011 4A West Region Finish: 8 2011 4A State Finish: 19 Levine got his track times down to 4:39 and 9:56.9. According to fan votes, Levine compliments Trzeciak to make the best 1-2 punch in the county this year.

David Fitzgerald, Churchill 2015 Poll Points: 366 2011 County Finish: 17 2011 4A West Region Finish: 4 2011 4A State Finish: 11 Fitzgerald's 16:25.00 personal best ranks #1 among Montgomery County freshmen in the last five years. He earned All-American status in the freshman mile with a time of 4:28.17 at New Balance Nationals.

4. Nick Simpson, Albert Einstein 2013 Poll Points: 394 2011 County Finish: 3 2011 3A West Region Finish: 5 2011 3A State Finish: 10 Simpson is the top returning finisher from last year's county championship meet. A personal best of 16:09.07 was good for third place last year.

Will Bertrand, Clarksburg 2013 Poll Points: 403 2011 County Finish: DNR 2011 Region Finish: DNR 2011 State Finish: DNR After three years of soccer, Bertrand is running cross country for the first time. He is the county and region champ in the 3200m and leads all returning county runners in the 3200m with a personal best time of 9:25.30.

T-2. Chase Weaverling, Poolesville 2014 Poll Points: 403 2011 County Finish: 10 2011 2A West Region Finish: 5 2011 2A State Finish: 4 Weaverling clocked 9:32.94 last year in the 3200m. It was the second best performance by a Montgomery County sophomore in the last five years behind only Bertrand's 9:31.50 a year earlier.

1. Joshua Trzeciak, Wootton 2013 Poll Points: 531 2011 County Finish: 5 2011 4A West Region Finish: 10 2011 4A State Finish: 16 Trzeciak is the county and region champ in the 800m and 1600m and the state champ in the 800m. He leads all returning county runners in the 800 and 1600 with times of 1:54.50 and 4:16.60. He received 22 of 63 first place fan votes in this poll.
