Division I
All of the boys teams are undefeated in the showdown at Sherwood with Wootton and Whitman. Sherwood has had a good varsity pack all season while Wootton's #3-7 runners started slow but are coming on strong. With Wootton a little stronger up front and Sherwood better at the #4-6 spots, this race for the division crown could be as close as a 28 to 28 tie between Sherwood and Wootton. Advantage: Sherwood.
Not to be forgotten is the meet between Churchill and Quince Orchard to likely determine the second place girls team in Division I behind B-CC. Churchill beat Quince Orchard at the Oatlands and Coyote Invitationals, but a dual meet format will be a toss up. When Coyote is scored as a dual meet, Churchill wins 27 to 28, but if JV winner Elizabeth Hobbs moved up to the varsity race, the 27-28 score would have been flipped in favor of QO.
Division II
The meet between Einstein and Northwest could have been the final showdown to determine the girls champions of Division II, but if Einstein wins, they will still have to take on RM due to the rain postponement last week. Northwest can seal the division title by beating Einstein this week and I believe they will.
The Walter Johnson boys should wrap up Division II this week against RM and Magruder.
Division III
Springbrook hosts Blair in a meet that will give us an idea of whether the Springbrook girls have the strength to compete with Blair in a larger championship format like the upcoming Consortia Championships. In a dual meet format, it will be Blair all the way.
The Clarksburg boys can wrap up Division III by sweeping a quad meet at home. As long as Clarksburg is healthy and not down too many men, there should not be much drama in this outcome.
Division IV
Congratulations to the Paint Branch boys and Blake girls for becoming the first teams to solidify division titles this year. In the unlikely scenario where PB boys lose to Blake or PB girls field a full team and take down Blake, it would not change the division winners.
