Team Scoring:
10 points for a correct pick
5 points for a pick that is off by 1 place
3 pts for pick off by 2 places
1 pt for pick off by 3 places
0 pts for pick off by 4-5 places
-1 pt for pick off by 6-7 places
-3 pts for pick off by 8-9 places
-5 pts off by 10 or more places.
Individual Scoring:
10 points for a correct pick
7 points for a pick that is off by 1 place
3 pts for pick off by 2 places
1 pt for pick off by 3 places
0 pts for pick off by 4-10 places
-1 pt for pick off by 11-15 places
-3 pts for pick off by 16 or more places
15 pts for a correct pick of "other"
Selecting "other" allows you to pick the entire field that is not listed as an option. For example, if you select "other" for 9th place and an unknown freshman finishes 9th, you will receive 15 points for making that prediction. An "other" selection that is off by 1 place will get 10 points, off by 2 places will get 7 points, off by 3 places will get 3 points, off by 4 places will get 1 point.
Your Predictions: To have your predictions scored, you must enter a name for the MoCoRunning crown leaderboard at the top of the form. To enter for the chance to win the Georgetown Running Company gift certificate, you must leave your email address. Do not pick the same athlete or team more than once. Doing so will void your submission.
Submissions: Submit your predictions simply by filling out the form on THIS PAGE and clicking submit. Your predictions will be stored in the database until after the county championship when they will be scored.
Prizes: Winner of the overall prediction competition will receive a $25 gift card to the Georgetown Running Company shoe stores in Chevy Chase and Georgetown. You must leave an email address to be contacted to be eligible for this prize. Your email address will not be used for any other reason and will be discarded after the county championship.
More importantly, the winner will receive 1 "mocorunning crown." Winners of each category will receive a quarter crown.
