Everyone should complete registration using Athletic.net. This must be completed by 10/13 @ 9:00 pm. Only register those athletes who will be running the County Meet. You must enter your athletes in a race (it doesn't matter which race, they can run in a different race but they must be entered in a race. Steve Hays will be working with the Pacers staff and Seann Pelkey to complete entries. Any questions, contact Steve via Outlook.

1. We have rented the facilities at Bohrer Park @ Summit Hall Farm and will use the bathrooms located just inside of the building. Please remind your athletes that no music is allowed inside. Mp3 players, I-pods are permissible. Ask them to be aware that other activities may be going on in other parts of the facility. They should not hang out inside. Use the bathrooms and exit ASAP. In the event of a storm we will locate in the gym. There will also be a few porta-johns located in the parking lot near the pavilion
2. Parking will be a problem due to the construction at GHS. I advise all schools to take a bus to avoid problems with kids driving and not getting to their race on time. Buses will be directed to Summit Hall Elementary school after your team is dropped off. You can instruct your driver to return to GHS around 1:00pm. Getting the drivers cell number might be a good idea as well.
3. There will be a $5.00 dollar charge per car this year. Please advise your students who will drive and notify your parents if possible.
4. Awards will be distributed at the awards program for the top 10 in each varsity race. All other ribbons will be sent to you via the Pony. Division champs will be announced here as well.
5. The starting positions will be alphabetical. A sign will be placed behind each box indicating your school's starting position.
6. There will be an area designated for tents and team setup. However, feel free to set up on other parts of the course as long as you do not interfere with the races. The entire course will be open to spectators so please remind your athletes and parents to be vigilante at all times.
7. Athletes should not enter the High School unless instructed to do in the event of an emergency.
8. The Boosters club will sell drinks and light snacks in an area near the athletes' tents.
9. Remind your athletes that Championship t-shirts by "Tees to go" will be on sell as in the past.
10. Cleaning up is very important so please pick up all of your trash prior leaving your area. A trash bag will be supplied to each school.
11. ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE CONTACT HERB TOLBERT OR MELISSA ASHBY.

COACHES' INTRUCTIONS

COURSE: Marked with WHITE lines ORANGE lines, arrows, red flags, and orange cones. Runners must negotiate all flags, markers etc. There will be course marshals at critical locations on course.

START: Beginning on the start line in the field along Education Blvd. Runners should head toward the right end of the apartment buildings. Schools were assigned starting positions alphabetically. Each school will have a sign to indicate their starting position. There should be three runners in front and the remainder behind.

SCORING: We will use computerized/"chip" timing courtesy of Pacers and the new MCPS timing system. We will use both systems with one as a backup. Results will be posted nearby.

Every runner has been assigned a chip according to your roster. It is important that "chips" are given to the correct runner. This assures the accuracy of the results. In addition, each runner will be given a number that should match their chip. The timing chips are very expensive and must be returned at the end of the meet. Coaches will be held responsible for each lost or unreturned chip. Only 7 runners per school are allowed in each varsity race. Register ONLY the kids who will be running the County Meet on Athletic.net by Sunday, October 13 at 9:00 PM. Athletes can be moved from Varsity to a Class race at any time.

RESULTS: Will be posted on the wall outside of the rec. center. Look on the far end of the building on the right side as you face the center. In addition, results will be posted on MOCOrunning.com.

AWARDS: The top 10 runners in both varsity races will be recognized at the awards ceremony following the boys B race. All other ribbons will be sent to coaches via pony as soon as possible. We will also present the division awards and the county team award at this time.

T- SHIRTS: Once again "Tees to go" will be doing commemorative t-shirts on site. Please inform your athletes.

DIRECTIONS TO SUMMIT HALL E.S.: (bus parking) Upon exiting GHS via Ed. Blvd., turn right at traffic light(355), continue one block to W. Deer Pk. Turn right onto W. Deer Pk. Continue one block(1/4 mile) to 4 way stop. School is on your left. Total distance approx. ? of a mile.

IMPORTANT CHANGE THIS YEAR. All cars will be charged a fee of $5.00. Please inform any students driving to expect this charge. This is not a per person charge but a per car charge. All schools will receive 2 passes to the meet. Please do not make copies of the pass. If you need an additional pass for a third coach you may make the one copy. If students want to park at the elementary school and walk over they are welcome to do this.

Please help with the clean up by getting your athletes to police the area prior to leaving. Trash bags are provided for this activity. Special thanks goes to Pacers, City of Gaithersburg Recreation Department, GHS Boosters, and everyone else that had a hand in making this happen. Have a great race!
