The Cougar Relays is an early spring track meet hosted by Quince Orchard High School in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Started in 2003 by Quince Orchard's head coach Seann Pelkey, the meet's signature event is the Devil Takes the Hindmost. The Devil Takes the Hindmost is a race of undetermined length where lagging runners are eliminated from the race each race. Coach Pelkey is known to dress up as a devil and taunt runners throughout the race. |
